Shima is the Goddess of the water and motherhood. Shima rules over the seas of Sahul. From these seas she was also born back when they where her mother Maka's blood, gushing from the wound she sustained fighting the first Leviathan into the deep crevices of the planet.
Followers of Shima revere the Turtle as her divine messengers for the dedication that they show to their children.
History[]
For aeons Shima lived alone at the bottom of the ocean where she was isolated from all the other gods. Eventually she got an idea: if she would become a mother like her mother Maka did before her she would never be lonely anymore. But unlike her own mother, Shima wanted to actually be there for her children when they grew up.
Shima went on a quest to find the method of creation. First she went to talk with the wise sage Zayn-Geif, but he only knew how to preserve life, not how to create it. Disappointing with his answer Shima went to Aspère, who she found very difficult to understand. But Aspère heard Shima's lament and she thought up a solution. She whispered unknowable truths into Shima's ear, which she masked speaking with Shima's voice instead of her own. From these whispers Shima came up with a plan which eventually lead to birth the twin gods Floris and Fiona.
What this solution was is still a mystery to scholars: some say that she ripped of a part of her own body and blew life into them, while others claim that she charmed and became one with one of the other gods.
